The PhyQS Master (previously called MCN) provided the theoretical foundation for my PhD in nanophysics. The core curriculum, particularly the advanced quantum mechanics and out of equilibrium statistical physics lectures were very interesting. The elective courses allowed me to learn about fields (such as interface physics) I would not have studied otherwise, which is good because it was very enriching and proved to be useful !

What I found particularly valuable was the international environment. Collaborating with fellow students from diverse backgrounds broadened my perspective and fostered a more dynamic learning experience. Furthermore, the professors demonstrated a genuine interest in student development, offering valuable guidance and support.

At times, some lectures seemed very abstract, but I can now see these concepts applied in labs, and they allowed me to follow discussions more easily. What I learned in this Master’s program is directly used in research.
